HOW I HELP YOU BUILD THE BRAND OF YOUR DREAMS, STEP BY STEP.

Discovery Call

The process begins with an initial call so we can get to know each other. Brand development is a deeply personal experience, especially if you’re a small business just starting out. During this chat, we’ll go over your high-level goals, discuss how you envision your brand in terms of both look and feel, and who you think your brand will connect with most. Who are the founders of your company? What is your mission? Why did you start? We’ll dive into your story, so I can bring it to life.

Client Survey

The client survey is a way for me to get to know you and your brand. Where you see it in one, five, even ten years, who your community is, where people are most likely to find you, and how you want to communicate with your audience. Beyond that, we’ll dive into the aesthetics of your physical branding - logos, colours, typeface, and more, so that I can have a solid understanding to begin the design process.

Brand Exploration Session

This is where we get into the nitty-gritty details of the goals you have for your brand. What are your biggest challenges and how do we solve them with a strategy-rooted brand development? This one-hour (give or take) session helps us iron out the details and create a solid roadmap of what this brand will achieve for you, both functionally and aesthetically. Feel free to invite members of your team to join us! It’s important that everyone from both parties is on the same page. In this phase, you’ll be provided with an overview of what we’ll accomplish with this brand for you to sign off on before we dive into matching your strategy with design.

Mood Board Creation

This outlines the overall look and feel of the brand - the colours, typography, imagery/photos, etc. that shape its aesthetic that I create post-brand exploration session. The design process will be based on the stylistic elements and tone of the mood board, once approved, it will be the foundation for your branding.

Branding Presentation + Revisions

Based on the mood board, you’ll be presented with a selection of logo concepts, with the option to select one logo for revisions. During this process, I’ll also create any accompanying brand assets, like the colour palette and any secondary logo marks/icons. I believe that branding should be responsive (ie. has the ability to work in various contexts and sizes), so you’ll end up with a suite of logos to accompany your main one during the handoff phase.

Brand Kit Creation + Handoff

The brand kit could easily be referred to as your ‘brand bible’ - it’s the master toolkit for implementing your brand. It includes the logo in all formats (for print and web), social media avatar, the typeface and any associated licenses, a style/imagery guide and finalized colour palette. Your brand kit equips you and your marketing department with everything you need to ensure your branding always stays true to your company’s voice and values, and consistent throughout social media, signage, website, packaging and more.
