Case Study: Welch's Out-of-Home Activation, Zero Bodega

Overview

The Welch’s Zero Bodega was a three-day pop-up in Greenwich Village, NYC, designed to promote Welch’s Zero Sugar product line. This immersive experience transformed a classic NYC bodega into a vibrant activation space that drew over 3,000 visitors, with a secret speakeasy element hidden behind a refrigerator door.

My Role

• Led the design of the “Zero Bodega” branding as well as exterior and interior elements from ideation to execution, ensuring an playful and dynamic interpretation of a traditional bodega.

• Created custom product packaging, props, sticker sheets, exterior decals and environmental graphics that enhanced the in-store experience.

• Designed content capture moments, including photo-friendly installations that encouraged social sharing.

• Crafted influencer invites, event menus, and promotional social media assets to drive awareness and engagement.

• Designed custom, limited-edition merchandise as a key takeaway for attendees.

• Designed custom artwork for a hidden speakeasy experience behind a secret door, featuring a gallery of archival Welch’s ads and a bar where guests enjoyed zero proof zero sugar drinks.

In honour of Rosé Day, The Welch’s Rosé Your Way Float was an ice cream truck reimagined to showcase Welch’s Sparkling Rosé-flavoured treats. This activation made multiple stops in the Boston area, engaging consumers with a playful and refreshing experience.

My Role

• Led the design for the truck’s exterior, crafting a visually compelling wrap that embodied the indulgent and celebratory nature of the product, including some custom illustrations.

• Designed promotional social media graphics to generate buzz leading up to and during the event.

• Developed a cohesive aesthetic that complemented Welch’s branding while appealing to a broad audience.
